Georgetown Aging Initiative Survey Summary Report

In 2011, the Georgetown Aging Initiative, representing a coalition of community groups and volunteers, conducted a survey of 1,847 seniors 60 or older living in Georgetown. The survey addressed issues such as transportation, housing, health, social engagement, and information on community resources. Task forces have been established in each of these areas.

Georgetown Aging Initiative Taskforces 11-1-12

The survey was conducted with funding by the Georgetown Health Foundation through a contribution to the Chisholm Trail Communities Foundation. The survey also was supported by a federal grant received by Family Eldercare from the Administration on Aging, “Community Innovations for Aging in Place.” Other sponsors included the Georgetown Ministerial Alliance, Sun City Texas Community Association, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Georgetown.
