March 19th, 2009 by Jennifer B.

The City of Georgetown Home Repair Program has been established to provide home repairs to homeowners who are residents of the City of Georgetown and have limited resources. Funding is supplied by the City for eligible projects and applicants.

Please follow the process below to request home repair assistance:

1.  Fill out application (found at the Housing Department or housing.georgetown.org).

2.  Submit the application to the Housing & Neighborhood Development Department.

  • Documents required:
  • Proof of home ownership
  • Proof of income (Income tax return, etc)
  • And any supporting documentation.

3.  The City will review your application, and inspect the home to determine a list of repair priorities. With this list, the homeowner will solicit three bids from contractors.

4.  After the bids are received, staff will review all of the information and decide if repairs can be funded.

5.  If the project is funded, the City will contract the lowest bidder to complete the work.  The contractor will be required to submit itemized invoices for work performed.

6.  The City will take pictures of the property prior to work, as well as upon completion.
